"First Munro - wild camped after going in by boat to Inverie. A Long hot summers day - the can of Coke I carted up to the top was bliss! At 26km and 1800m ascent for just one Munro ‘tick’, I was subsequently pleased to discover most Munros yield much more easily!" — davidb • Jul 24, 1984
"Galloway Mountaineering Club meet at Barrisdale Bothy. With three others. From the bothy after a night of continuous rain. Allt Calg Choire was difficult to cross; we jumped it. Many other streams difficult to cross. To Coire Dhorrcail and then ascended towards Bealach a’ Coire Dhorrcail in mist. Got too far to the west and had to traverse east. Found a way onto the ridge above the bealach. To summits of Ladhar Bheinn and Stob a’ Choire Odhair at 14:05. Down the NE ridge and back to the bothy, followed by a walk-out." — peter43 • Jul 3, 1983
"Cairngorm Club meet. With John Hetherington. From Barrisdale Bothy we went to Màm Barrisdale (2 men dropped from a helicopter there). We went a short distance down the path on the other side, then ~south and up a stream to the ridge of Creag Dhearg and hence to Meall Buidhe. We continued over the south east top, Druim Leac a’ Shith, and then via the south east ridge of Luinne Bheinn to the south east top and the main summit. Descended via Bachd Mhic an Tosaich to Màm Barrisdale, where John descended to Barrisdale. I continued to Stob a’ Chearcail, point 848m, Ladhar Bheinn, and Stob a’ Choire Odhar before descending to Barrisdale Bothy. Mist on all the tops except Druim Leac a’ Shith." — peter43 • Jul 11, 1981
