A short hike with nice views of the Rio Grande River valley. Hike begins at a turn around point on a BLM road. To get there, turn off NM-68 onto NM-75 (to Dixon), proceed about 3/10 mile to an unnamed, graded road on your right marked with a NO OUTLET sign. Proceed up the steep road for 1.2 miles to a "turn around" area that's on the north shoulder of the mesa. A slot in the rock cliff provides access to the summit. Note: some locals use the road for exercise/dog walking.
