"This summit was the 6th of 8 summits we walked on the last day of a holiday based at Bassenthwaite. The 1st & lowest being Longlands Fell at 483m & the highest being Knott at 710m. We started & finished the circuit at Longlands village on the NW side of the hill. We left the village on a good track up the easy N ridge to the summit of Longlands Fell. We then walked up to the summit to Lowthwaite Fell, then descended to Broad Moss & up to Brae Fell, which is the end point of a higher ridge, enjoying good far reaching views. Here we stopped for a lunch break, before continuing along the broad ridge & up to Little Sca Fell. A brief stop before continuing to the nearby Great Sca Fell, then a short descent to an area full of peat hags and bogs. We ascended to Knott, where we had good views to many Lake District hills. After this summit we continued to the outlying summit of Frozen Fell and finally Meal Fell, before descending through the gap of Trusmadoor to the valley and by the River Ehen back to Longlands village." — davidlong • Sep 1, 2017

"A warm, but hazy day. Set off from the old Wolfram mines at the head of Mosedale. Walked up Grainsgill beck, alot of mud after heavy overnight rain. Avoided the wettest parts by ascending directly to the Bothy on Great Lingy Hill. From the bothy, we walked around the head of Grainsgill valley and up boggy ground to the flat summit of Coomb Height. Then up the broad wet grass ridge to the summit of Knott. Then E down by Miller moss to the head of Grainsgill, back up to the bothy and the short ascent to the grass summit of Great Lingy Hill." — davidlong • Sep 14, 2016
