"Great day out from base in Wasdale. Started with the direct route to Kirk Fell, unrelentingly steep but quick. The ridge out to Caw Fell didn’t feel too long today; backtracking to Scoat Fell dragged a bit but had to be done! Then descended back to Wasdale via Red Pike and Yewbarrow which is always good. Slept well after a couple of beers." — johnandsue4fun • Apr 28, 2022
"Sunny Day. We started from Seathwaite in Borrowdale, went steeply up Sourmilk Gill waterfall, then onto the summit of Base Brown, 2120ft. Then we walked up to the summit of Green Gable 2603ft, dropped to Wind gap and avoided Great Gable summit by walking on the North Traverse to Beck Head, then up onto Kirk Fell. We had good views on the top and then returned by using the South traverse of Great Gable, to Styhead tarn, then walked down Styhead Gill, back to Seathwaite" — davidlong • Jul 19, 2009
