"12/31/22: From St. Mary’s TH with snowshoes and switching to Trax at the glacier base. Very large snow blown rollers would pass down the glacier valley every few minutes making travel even more laborious with gale force winds on the summit area. Skies never cleared but still a cool day on the mountain. Paul turned back just shy of the Flats.

"The peak is not very prominent, but the views from the top are pretty good anyway. Easy route except for the loose dirt & rocks adjacent the glacier was a PITA. Next time we'll put on the cleats and just walk the glacier.
The trailer is mapped on the north side of the lower glacier section and south side of the upper glacier section, but there is a trail on both sides. If you are trying to stay off the glacier, the trail on the north side is best" — stevebrown • Sep 22, 2020
"I had plans for James Peak but conditions weren't favorable. Instead I headed up Kingston and got back down before the weather moved in. I think I'll come back later this summer for the James, Bancroft, Parry combo." — WaxDr • May 28, 2016
