"Another small mountain with R on the NH 2023 trip. We got rained off of Mt. Monadnack earlier in the day and stopped here for a quick hike while trying to keep in front of the storms. This is a very nice, kid-friendly trail. It's not too bad in the rain as long as you don't mind wet feet. You won't sink in the mud too much. " — danielmartin • Jun 26, 2023
"An easy hike up for sunrise this morning. still snow on the trail today, about a 1/2 inch. some pooling water, but nothing that can't easily be walked around. 33 minutes to the top today, 28 minutes down." — VonSelmer • Nov 15, 2017
"My 20th time up this easy spur trail off of the Wapack Trail. It had its icy spots but nothing that couldn't be easily gone around. I made this trip with the wife & dogs, bare booted." — VonSelmer • Jan 17, 2017
"A great sunrise hike this morning up Kidder to summit it for the 4th time ever in October, knocking it off my grid for October until a final through hike to grid the Wapack Trail Peaks 5 times (hopefully in 2019)." — VonSelmer • Oct 19, 2016
"Up here again for the second time in September, with the wife & dogs. Arguably one of the easiest peaks to summit on the Wapack Trail Peak List. A quick gradual slope up to a nice view of the north & south end of the Wapack Trail." — VonSelmer • Sep 3, 2016
"Gray day, nobody else on the trail. The summit affords a nice view to the southeast, which probably would have been better on a less hazy day. If you walk across a field a little before the summit, you can see Mount Monadnock (through the trees) and some smaller mountains to the north, which I assume are Burton Peak, Holt Peak, and Temple Mountain." — RSperling • Oct 21, 2015
"Hiked today with my daughter Abby. Although it was sunny, most of the peaks around us and to the north were obscured by fog. Saw none on the trail except for workers building a road on the power line utility easement." — rjnick • Sep 19, 2015
"Second summit of this short but exciting hike. We bushwhacked to wildcat hill first, which sits only a short distance to the north west from kidder with only a marshy wetland area seperating the two. After exploring little known wildcat we linked back up with the blue blazed kidfer trail to summit" — mikezilla • May 6, 2012
"My friend and I started at the lot across rte 123 beyond the windblown XCS area to the Wapack trail, yellow triangle blazes to the Blue triangle blazed Kidder mountain trail. It was a cool, slightly rainy day with a 60% chance of thunder storms that never materialized. Very nice hiking day, fun summit with scattered Cairns and an impressive stone wall, fun view of the valley and of course grand Monad. " — mikezilla • Jul 29, 2011
