"Great day for a hike. Five fine friends 3 trusty dogs. The views from the old fire tower today were awesome. The last time I hike this one we couldn't see 50 feet in any direction. Today we could see forever from the tower. The floor of the tower is still a bit sketchy, the only way to get a view is to climb the 12' tower. We detoured to the old fire wardens camp on the way down. the owners have been busy making improvements. Nice to see it's not just rotting away. We also saw a lot of trappers boxes for trapping Pine Marten. This is a great hike that doesn't require a lot of effort. However I think the elevation is 3600 feet not 3100 (Thank you Peakery for making the change). Happy Trails!" — bwright • Jun 27, 2015
"It was our intention to summit Kibby this morning and wave to my brother-in-law who was working on the nearby wind turbine. Mother Nature and her fog blanket had other plans. We could hear the low drone of the turbine, but we had no view what so ever. The next week friends of mine did this same climb and the views were spectacular.
The spring at the old wardens cabin was following and the cabin was in good shape. The tower was in good condition but was a bit shaky.
Happy Trails" — bwright • Sep 24, 2011
