Overnight trip out of Roads End in Kings Canyon, hiking to Kennedy Mountain on the first day and Mount Harrington on the second day from camp in Frypan Meadow. I had to grab a no-show permit, so I didn't get started until about 11am, making for a very hot ascent up the Lewis Creek Trail. I was feeling the effects of the heat by the time I got to the meadow, so I spent some time hydrating and napping and didn't start the push up Kennedy until nearly 3pm. It was a straightforward scramble to the summit, but I was feeling the cumulative effects of the heat, altitude, and 7000ft of gain and couldn't properly enjoy the views in the early evening light. Register dated back to the mid 80's. I made the last hour of the descent back to Frypan Meadow by headlamp under a moonless sky.
