"I climbed Monte Vena Rossa and Monte Giammatura, the first is missing from the database but is shown on the map. This is a very important place for the partisan fight against Nazi-fascism, some partisans died here." — enricocercasentieri • Jan 15, 2025
"An easy bag, if anything in the late June heat is easy in this country. Quite a impressive fortification lies on top of this hill, one that has been restored after several earthquakes in this prone region over the years. From the parking below the town, up through the windy streets. The church near the top is also worth a visit, with its impressive altar piece and relatively cool atmosphere." — vygodski • Jun 22, 2022
"From the Duca de Abruzzo refuge, the path descends a little to the passo before skirting around the steep anticima of this top, to climb from the south. The last 150 meters or so is quite rocky and requires some scrambling, but nothing too serious. Wonderful flora and fauna here. Tiny blue and pink flowers, and some radiant blue ones with four petals. The top of this hill has two crosses and the views are stupendous. On the descent I encountered three chamoix goat antelope thingies which showed off their rock climbing abilities. On the return I climbed the anticima - no path but the ridge isn't as dangerous as it looks - then made the steep descent back to the path, then took a relatively flat route south of the ridge skirting round to return to Campo Imperatore where, as I feared, all the places selling arrosticini were closed. However, the Ostello serves one of the best beers I know - the rossa Forst - so a job well done." — vygodski • Jun 21, 2022
"Skirted around this on the way to Cefalone and then climbed on way back. No notable path but walked along the crest, which looks more sheer from higher up than it is. A couple of markers. Steep downward climb/slide to regain path and return to Campo Imperatore along the lower path to the south which doesn't gain or lose much height." — vygodski • Jun 21, 2022
"I climbed this on the descent from Monte Viglio. There is a little bit of climbing to be done to get down the other side. Pleased I went up this because, even though it was pretty scary you got a clear view of how much of the crest of Viglio is overhanging, and precarious." — vygodski • Sep 18, 2020
