"Last stop of the day. Looped down into Trail Canyon which has not recovered or been repaired above Tom Lucas Camp from the Station Fire, spent a good hour bushwhacking through buckthorn over my head. A trail crew needs to get up there before it’s too late Complete TR: http://www.themtsarecalling.com/foxcondoriron" — Christopher • Mar 19, 2018
"Trail Canyon doesn't have a real trail. Ended up climbing directly up the South ridge of Iron Peak. Came back down Yerba Buena Trail (very overgrown) and Gold Peak road. Long hard hike. Shouldn't have worn shorts..." — edg • Mar 19, 2016

"Hiked Fox, Condor, and Iron in a big loop from mile marker 4.50, up the Condor Peak Trail and down the severely overgrown Trail Canyon Trail. Closed the loop with a 3 mi road walk to back to the car. 19 mi/ ~6000 ft gain.
The Trail Canyon Trail was in really bad shape. It was navigable, but barely. I lost the trail once near the top and had to bushwhack through buckthorn to get back on track. The worst section is once you reach the canyon bottom - before and after the Tom Lucas Trail camp. Someone put carins that help you stay on track, but even then going from carin to carin requires bushwhacking, sometimes through dense poison oak. Quite an adventure, but very doable!
