"Followed up on Scott's first ascent. Not sure which side of the stairs he went up. I chose the left! Missed my transport to a real trailhead and flying out early tomorrow so no Iceland summits for me!" — goshen-bagger • May 26, 2024

"Rainy day walking tour of Reykjavik. "Summited" the famed landmark Hallgrimskirkja by taking elevator to 8th floor (ticket required) then ascending a few flights of stairs. Hightailed it out of there before the bells went off." — scott • May 19, 2024

"We landed at Keflavik and drove to our Airbnb in Hafnarfjordur, then decided after 2 pm to drive over to and hike up Esja. It won’t be that hard, I thought; it’s not even 1,000 meters and we hike peaks close to 2,000 meters every year in North Carolina. However, it was raining lightly and windy the entire hike and we were both jet-lagged. We went up about 3 km and decided to turn around. My wife was feeling miserable and mad at me for pushing onward. She had broken her foot a year ago but it was hurting now. She made the right call. Loved the dramatic scenery. We also saw many locals hiking up in running clothes as if it were just another blustery day, which it was for them." — tlannin • Jul 28, 2019

"Went alone ,it is a fairly easy walk / climb taken from the left side seen from the valley of Mosfellsdalur .
it gives a good view of the surrounding area which is the town of Mosfellsbaer on the left looking at the sea and Mount Esja on the right :)" — jonpeturkristjansson • Aug 10, 2000
