"Solo. Out & back from Deer Leap Trailhead on 9N. The beginning part of this trip can be found on my Brown Mountain log. I popped up at the “summit” (lil bump #2!) in short order after passing the leanto. No views today, and slippery footing with a coating of fresh snow on wet leaves. From here I continued on to Fivemile. Edit; can’t add iPhone photo to this log either, “too small.”" - kellieirene, Nov 13, 2017
"Headed up to the Lake George area for an east out and back today. Started from Route 9N and hiked to five mile mountain and back. The trails were in good shape, a couple muddy spots, but overall better than I expected. Views weren't amazing from five mile, but there was a decent opening from which I could see Sleeping Beauty and Buck Mountains across the lake. " - LGH-Tom, Apr 15, 2017
"A good hike up one of the tongue mountains. Steady grade up over Brown and Huckleberry then to the lean-to and then the summit of Five Mile Mountain. These were my wife and my 1st three peaks in the Tongue Mountains. Views across Lake George were great." - hbotc, Sep 7, 2013
