With the heat on the rise, I chose a quick AM climb. Hoyt Mountain is another place that I had passed at least 100 times without climbing. One reason why I didn't was because there didn't seem to be a trail to the summit. However, while getting out of the car and actually looking this time, I could see that there was a very well defined path going up the slope, it just isn't clear when viewed from the road. The only catch is that is immediately climbs steeply. No problem, though, since I am a member of Peakery and this is what we choose to do. I took my time, rising to the false summit before tackling the actual peak. I didn't stay long, because I wanted to do a little more hiking before the temperatures spiked.
