A bright sunny bank holiday, with with the roads all v busy. Set off from the roadhead at Ingram valley, walked the private road to Linhope, then up the track by Ritto Hill and Linhope Spout waterfall. We took the track up on to the moorland to Threestoneburn Wood, where the heather was in full bloom. Enjoyed good views of the surrounding hills and to the coast, before the final steep pull up to the summit, . No other people on the hill, even though it was a public holiday. Added bonus of seeing the Tall ships sailing boats setting off on their race from UK to Denmark on our return home.
