"Super fun day on mostly mellow terrain. Most of the avy prone slopes were thin or bare. The skiable slopes were stable, but we kept things pretty conservative. The skin track through the trees is skied out in sections, but in decent enough condition. We were met with a strong wind once we reached the ridge. However, we were feeling good, so we traversed NW to the ridge for Hector South Peak. At 2700m we were socked in. With the low viz, we decided to spend our time route finding a way down. Of course, the sun busted through the clouds after we had lost 200m. It made for some nice powder skiing on the southern slope to the creek. It's probably good that we headed back when we did as it took about 2 hours to downhill bushwhack back to the truck - definitely our crux for the day." — ivo • Jan 14, 2025
