Walked from Anderson's Flat carpark at Moonlight up the Moonlight track to the tops then followed the new Paparoa Track to the northern end of the escarpment SW of Hawera. Here I headed off track and climbed Hawera. It took a bit under 6hrs each way including all stops from carpark back to carpark. The Gps track just shows from the junction of the Moonlight Track and Paparoa Track on the way up (It took about 3hrs to the summit from there) The weather was fine and visibility excellent. I saw some wild goats but no deer or chamois this trip.
