"Walked from Glenridding to Keswick. Nice views at the start but conditions turned awful. Visibility went to pretty much zero, started snowing heavily. Having to make my own footpaths wading through about 3ft of snow was sooooo tiring. Ended up skipping Great Dodd and just tried to make it down in one piece. Fun stuff!" — MrGrinch • Mar 2, 2024

"A grey day with low cloud and wind for the first nine summits - cleared for Catstye Cam and Birkhouse Moor. Hard, icy snow on upper part of Swirral Edge. Despite the cloud stayed mostly dry. Home to Susan by 3.00pm." — johnandsue4fun • Jan 22, 2022

"This peak was climbed as part of a traverse of "The Dodds" group of hills, taking in the main summits of Great Dodd 2807ft and Stybarrow Dodd 2770ft. Hart Side was the penultimate summit in the traverse. There is evidence of old mine works on the summit, with a trench having been dug many years ago to extract minerals." — davidlong • Jun 18, 2013
