"I climbed up these peaks by starting at the Fern Dell, whichh was a nice walk by the creek, and then started to climb up through the forest and exposed fire roads to the Griffith Observatory, which Ive never been to after living in LA all my life. Sadly, the observatory was closed, so I continued on and headed through the Berlin Forest on the Charlie Trail. Then I took a shortcut as the Charlie Trail was log and boring and then head up along a fire road to Mt Hollywood. The summit of Mt Hollywood had some amazing views like usual, and then after that I went down the Hogback Trail and then went to summit Hogback Peak, which provided some nice views and the trail also provivided constant nice views. Then I tesched Glendal Peak and climbed that, it was a small brushy trail with not too nice views, and then I headed down from the summit and then toook a conbination of boring fire roads and sidewalks back tk my car, the only thin gof note is I passed some more views of LA and the Greek Theater" — lc444 • Aug 8, 2025
"Parked on Franklin and walked up Fern Dell Dr to The Trails Cafe for a bite before starting the loop to Griffith Observatory and Mt Hollywood, stopping at all the look out points along the way. Cool, cloudy day so not as busy on the park trails." — jodola • Apr 17, 2025
"First hike of 2020! We went to Griffith Park to hike the Hollywood sign. So did everybody else. But it was still a nice hike. Coming back down off the summit we decided to "detour" over to Griffith Observatory. So did everybody else. The crowds there were insane. Afterwards, back down to the car and off to find dinner. Happy New Year to all my fellow Peakery's!" — marc • Jan 1, 2020
