We started out hike just off the main road. From there we followed the mine access road to just arouind a switchback corner near a water filled pit. Just past the corner we started to angle up to the left up a section of road coming off the access road. We ended up at a long steep cut parallel to the ridge. We followed this more or less all the way to the summit. We came back down zig zagging down through different ling roads through out the open pit mine area, checking out what is known as the node - a large interesting shaped coal seam.

The mine has become active again, so hiking this area is out of the question for an indefinite period of time.
