"Day two of section hike, from gentian pond campsite to full goose. Summited five peaks, with a lot of above-treeline terrain. Much of that terrain was muddy and needed log bridges to cross, which were not in good shape." — noahthackeray • Jun 14, 2022
"Teamed up with Yvonne Y for a red-lining hike. We went up Notch Tr and out Austin Brook Tr. The weather was mostly crappy. We were in the clouds for most of it. We didn't get views until Mt Success. " — newenglandwarrior • Sep 21, 2019
"What an amazing hike!! Lots of ice, bear tracks, HUGE bear tracks an more more bear tracks along with bear scat. Nothing could beat today’s 30 degree temps, no wind and full sun on open ridge line for miles. We could see mountains for days, 360 degree mountains from Maine and New Hampshire. One of my favorite hikes!!" — shay-shay • Nov 15, 2017
"I definitely should have hit this peak when I did the AT 13 years--the summit is only 0.1 miles from the trail! But I was young and focused on covering miles at the time. I didn't care about views (especially if it meant expending some of the precious little energy I had), and the word "peakbagging" wasn't in my vernacular. But now it most definitely is!! Nice to finally get the NEHH done; now to figure out the next list!" — robertocampo • Jun 3, 2017
"Some hikers broke out the trail, so I wanted to do this hike. Got Denise and Matt to come along, and Doug wanted more stuff. Lower part of the trail had some a couple of confusing parts and the people before us lost the trail and had to bushwack over to the trail, thanks to old blazing. It was a rugged hike with icy areas on scrambly spots. We eventually reached the summit but couldn't stay because of the wind chill. Great hike and great feeling to get another NEHH W done. 9.6 miles!!!" — newenglandwarrior • Dec 26, 2016
"A couple of reasons for doing this summit. It was bugging me on the red-lining aspect. I think I had done it, but the older map does show 2 trails. So I wanted to do it, just to make sure that base is covered. Also, to post the photos for Wendy T. family. On the way up the Wright Tr, saw a black bear. Great views from the summit. Saw a wasp nest on a tree coming back down. 9.6 miles!!!" — newenglandwarrior • Sep 25, 2015
