"Nepal reopened after the earthquake, so back at Gokyo for the 3rd time, previously over the high passes, this time a pleasant trek up the valley. Perfect weather, great trek, great people." — davidlong • Oct 19, 2015
"A short, fun climb up from Gokyo. Amazing views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and countless others. Clouds floating around the summit made it even more mystical. I felt better on this climb than I have at 14,000; I suppose acclimatization really does work.

"Gokyo Ri was main point of our Everest region trekking. It provides a fabulous view on mt. Everest. Besides "the Top of the World", from Gokyo Ri it is possible to see four over 8,000 metre peaks - Lhotse, Makalu, Kangchenjunga, and Cho Oyu." — Skyliner • Apr 30, 2010
"There were no buildings at all in Gokyo in 1985. It was peace on earth. The climb was exhausting but worth every drop of sweat. My Sherpa guide scampered up like he was running up the stairs down in Kathmandu." — danuneken • May 30, 1985
