"Gildersleeve Mountain lies on the western fringe of the Allegheny Plateau just 15-20 miles east of Downtown Cleveland. On clear days, you can see Cleveland's skyline from one of the overlook spots near the summit of this 1,160+ foot "mountain".
The paved Lucky Stone Loop trail circles the summit and then continues for another mile or so in the Chapin Forest Reservation. Two paths head up the initial incline, with one being significantly steeper than the other. I chose the relatively ambitious route while the others settled for the more gradual one. Either way, this hike (more like a nature walk) wasn't too long or challenging and still offered decent lookouts of the surrounding area. Well worth stopping at on my daytrip to Northeast Ohio.
