"Hiked up the fire road to reach Lawson Peak. The trail is easy to follow, but does get fairly technical at the top. After descending from Lawson we headed to Gaskill Peak. The trail is extremely overgrown and impossible to follow at times." — jakeshurer • May 12, 2019
"Gaskill was our first summit of the day. The use trail that leads to the top from Caveacre Rd is EXTREMELY easy to miss. It starts in the saddle between Gaskill and Lawson, where Caveacre road starts to leave the ridge between the two peaks. If you miss it, you will be sentenced to hours of painful bushwhacking. ... You have been warned! The actual summit is challenging to reach and descend from, but has some very fun boulder scrambling." — benjineer • Jun 13, 2015
"Took the trail that continues on past Lawson to see what this one was like. This bonus round is an extra 1.5 miles each way on from the trail intersection @ the foot of Lawson. A bit sketchy after making the left turn especially approaching the boulders thorough trails in thick brush. There was a big patch of white granite in the ground that was impressive. The peak was similar to Lawson only less traveled. I recommend for that reason alone. But it made our 4.5 mile hike to Lawson into a 7.5 mile trek. I was fine, but Julito was worn out!
