"Yucaipa ridge extravaganza - started from Vivian Creek trailhead, climbed Galena Peak, and followed the infamous ridge all the way down to the preserve. The headwall up to Mill Creek Jumpoff is shorter and easier than most reviews would make you think, but the rockfall risk is very real. Several television set-sized boulders released unprovoked from the top of the headwall: wear a helmet! The Galena - Little San Gorgonio traverse deserves its reputation as one of Southern California's most challenging hikes. A lot of class 3/4 on questionable rock. 10 peaks, long day. Luckily an awesome local gave me a ride back in the back of his pickup truck up to the trailhead - I was dreading hiking the last 5 miles up the road!" — danishclimber • Jun 4, 2022

"We actually traversed the ridge from Little San G to Galena, summitting Wanat along the way. Fun, but I'd call it a tough Iron to Baldy traverse, with more class 5 and more exposure. " — Canyontraveler22 • Sep 3, 2016
