Left the Jay Mt. Rd. at the height of land & traversed to the east of Frenyea & ultimately to the top. From here I could glimpse
Saddleback through the trees, so I set a point on my compass & off I went. I followed the ridge just north of Frenyea zigzagging
around dense brush & blowdown. Just below the false summit, I skirted to the west to avoid the worst of the slab rock. I made
it to the false summit & shortly after the true summit. I was hoping to get a view of Whiteface, but cloud cover was thick with
only limited views to the east. This was a true bushwhack with no herd path or flagging to aid in the climb.
