"Used the Frary Peak Trail to get to the summit. It was quite warm for November being 60 degrees. It took us about 2 hours to get to the top. We used the ridge instead of the trail to get to the peak. The ridge has exposure in some parts but it isn't that bad. We than hit up Stringham Peak and the Dooly Knob on the way down." — JasonFitz • Nov 15, 2021

"Before setting off on my eight-day vacation out west, I spent countless hours studying every intricate detail of the Mount Whitney and Wheeler Peak trails while not giving a second's thought to this mountain. Looking at Frary's elevation gain and mileage, I figured this would be a moderately-challenging but mostly straight-forward hike that would give me no problems whatsoever. Boy was I ever wrong!
Although I made it to the summit and back, this hike was anything but a success. I was unprepared for the relentless sun beating down on me >95% of the way. More importantly, my opting not to print or review any trail/topo maps beforehand -- and my stubborn refusal to consult my smartphone when I made a wrong turn at a confusing trail junction near the radio tower -- put me in an extremely perilous position where I could've easily fallen hundreds of feet to my death or gotten stuck on the dangerously steep backside of the mountain. Fortunately, I had enough upper-body strength to propel myself up a steep cliff that I previously descended, or I might have needed a full-blown rescue operation. I was legitimately scared for my life, which almost never happens with me! Shortly after tha..." — theascent • Sep 2, 2018
"Got a late start on this hike and I don't normally come out here in August but here I am. It was hot 88deg on the way up and 95deg on the way down. Nice view, but not worth the burn." — CacheMACS • Aug 4, 2017

"Utah. Underestimated the power of the sun. Didnt carry enough water, 1 bottle for 2 and took shirt off because it was too hot, got burned. Saw some bison from a distance. Floated in the Great Salt Lake after." — Pieter • Jul 24, 2017

"Decided to summit this peak with some of Troop 55 from Hill AFB. Myself and a friend set foot on the trail by 4:30 pm and made it to the top by 7 pm or so, in plenty of time to catch the sunset at 7:47 pm.
This is a great hike and a beautiful place to watch the sunset!" — CamminatoreAFK • Mar 28, 2014

"I wanted to try this peak out in the snow. It was a fun trip, but had to stop 400' short of the actual peak. It got a little to icy without any special equipment and had to turn around. I think I like the climb more in the winter for sure." — CacheMACS • Nov 9, 2012

"This is a great hike and a fun one to do. Offers great views of the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Range. I have done this one many times. Do not go in early spring! The brine fly's are brutal!" — garf • Mar 26, 2011
