"We parked beside the D 36 Croix de St-Robert pass road at 45.56382 degrees north; 002.83134 degrees east, where a number of cars can be parked without blocking the road. We took the trail up between cow pastures to a col at 1529m. Here the eroded trail climbs in a series of zig-zags up the south-west ridge to a cross, and summit cairn beyond. Good views of the whole Monts Dore caldera. We descended by our outward route, with me making a short detour to climb to the unmarked summit of Puy de Mareilh, before heading back down to the road by the outward route from the col. With ALT." — marktrengove • Aug 9, 2022

"We parked in the car park in the Aire by the N89, crossed the road by a pedestrian crossing and took the marked trail up in zig-zags until it emerged from the beech wood onto the grassy ridge, with the summit obvious, but un-marked. A restricted view, apart from towards le Monts Dore. We returned the same way. With ALT." — marktrengove • Aug 8, 2022
"After taking the cable car up from Super Lioran, we followed the trail, with many others, to the summit - a spacious area with great views. We then descended past the facilities to Pas des Alpins, leaving the ski trail to climb on a path up to the summit of Puy du Rocher.
We then followed the narrow north ridge, with some light scrambling in places protected by metal rungs, down to the col at l'Aiguillon. There the trail headed south-west, before leading down the steep north-west ridge in a series of zig-zags, eventually entering a beech forest, still keeping to the ridge crest over a minor top. After this point it headed down, becoming a wider grassy trail joining a ski run down to Super Lioran. With ALT.
I liked these mountains - far more imposing than les Monts Dore to the north." — marktrengove • Aug 7, 2022
