"The Condor Peak Trail is not a very popular one. I had the trail to myself all day long on a Saturday. The climb is long and gradual through mostly non-shaded forest landscape. Some sections are a bit overgrown, which only became an issue with my shins because I didn't wear long pants. The only true steep section of the trail is the final burst to the top of Fox Mountain. A use trail leaves the Condor Peak Trail to gain the summit of Fox Mountain on the NW side of the peak. From the top, I could look out at the surrounding mountains, with the closest being Condor (but not that close). I considered pressing on to also bag Condor, but I was ready to head back with the realization that 14 miles was enough time out there, especially after a late start. Hopefully I can do Condor some other time, but from a different starting point." — MikeTeeples • May 19, 2018

"First time back in the San Gabriels in almost 4 years! These peaks were off limits due to the station fire, can finally bag them now that they’re back open. Complete TR: http://www.themtsarecalling.com/foxcondoriron" — Christopher • Mar 19, 2018

"Hiked Fox, Condor, and Iron in a big loop from mile marker 4.50, up the Condor Peak Trail and down the severely overgrown Trail Canyon Trail. Closed the loop with a 3 mi road walk to back to the car. 19 mi/ ~6000 ft gain. It was hot for March, so I had to fill up a water bottle at the small spring along the trail about 1-2 miles before Fox." — klotito • Mar 29, 2015

"3rd peak of 3-peak solo 18.7 mile traverse of Condor-Peak 5162-Fox. Lots of ticks along the south side trail to Fox from Big Tujunga Cyn Road this time of year. Trail needs maintenance, but is passable. Nice views of Josephine, Strawberry, Lawlor and the Big Tujunga Reservoir to the SE, Mt Gleason, Hawks and Pickens SSE. " — BradStemm • Dec 10, 2014
