"Cross country slog get this one. Don't underestimate how long it takes to get it and back. Also note the high point is past the USGS peak. Rewarded with nice views out into the valley.
Bypassed San Jacinto all together and rode the side of the ridge, using HPS GPX. Would have been interesting to test a rockier traverse directly from San Jacinto. Some other time.
Part of a group of peaks done in a loop: Cornell, Folly, Newton Drury, Jean, Shirley, and Marion." — JustinB • Jul 13, 2018
"4/5. The drop off the shoulder of San Jacinto was over rougher terrain than I expected. That coupled with running out of energy made this minor summit tougher than I expected." — edg • Jul 29, 2017

"Peak 4/7. The theme the remainder of the day became "climbing the wrong summit block multiple times." High point and register is located on the west side of the summit plateau.

"Third peak of our six-peak day in the San Jacintos. This was an HPS hike led by the Doggetts; I'm glad I did this peak with the group, because there are a couple of false summits and I'm not sure I would have found the actual summit on my own." — HikerMark • Jun 14, 2014

"After spending the night at Strawberry Junction we Summited San Jacinto and then traversed down the ridge to Folly Peak. I got so stoned from the joint we smoked on San Jacinto I forgot to take summit pictures on folly. So I took Some pics pointing back to it while on my way back up San J." — 1-with-Nature • Apr 7, 2014

"Went to Folly Peak cross-country from San Jacinto Peak. It took over two hours. It would have been much faster to take the trail down toward Little Round Valley and then jump-off and contour cross-country over to Folly Peak." — thesearcherextraordinaire • Sep 1, 2012
