"Getting out in the spring like weather, high 40’s to lower 50’s, to stretch the legs. Lunch at the West mountain leanto taking in the fine view down to NY city and watching some hawks soaring in the gusty winds. Dropped down to the Fingerboard leanto just for shitz and giggles. Carried out some litter but it will need a thorough cleanup come spring." — Nimblefoot • Feb 10, 2022

"Nice easy climb - the colors are starting to to show.
Was a little foggy at the bottom , but it burned off by the time i got the the summit.
Pay attention on Blue trail from Tiorati Lake to the AT. Its not marked well.

"Another day of getting out of the house hiking locally and enjoying the sunshine. A nice breeze at times to keep the day from hotting up too much. Plenty of others out enjoying in the fresh air as we do our dosey-do of social distancing. Most keep it friendly with a genuine Hi or How you doing while the few keep too themselves with stern looking faces....boo hoo. An out and back of Breakneck Ridge from the small Brook trail PA then down to the Tiorati Circle PA in Harriman for another O&B with less sun and more clouds." — Nimblefoot • Apr 2, 2020
"Out doing a couple of short hikes late morning/early afternoon with the day really heating up. After cruising over the summit of Fingerboard I dropped down to the shelter passing a couple climbing up who told me about a bad bear situation in the area. Sure enough right near the shelter was a bear trap set up with caution tape strung around the trees creating a no go zone. After relocating the car from Tiorati circle to Silver Mine PA I headed up the woods road to find a young couple getting some woodsy wedding photos taken. He had to be suffering in the monkey suit while his bride to be was in a strapless gown with less than modest coverage. Her 4 foot train was being dragged down the rocky road and through the vegetation, I guess no one thought to pick it up for her and therefore reduce the cleaning charge. All the hikers and AT backpackers seem to be dragging in the increasing heat and humidity which caused considerable haze toward NYC." — Nimblefoot • Jun 28, 2019
"Visiting two small peaks in Harriman SP, on the Hudson Highlands peak challenge, Black and Fingerboard mtns. After parking next to Tiorati circle I did the short and flat hike out to the nondescript summit of Fingerboard. I passed a young family in street clothes out for a stroll in the sunny weather then got caught by two trail runners clad in shorts and t-shirts doing the R-D trail." — Nimblefoot • Nov 11, 2018
"Quick stroll out to Fingerboard mountain from Tiorati Circle to complete round #7 of the Hudson Highlands Peak Challenge. Cloudy day with minimal sunshine and feeling more like Fall." — Nimblefoot • Sep 24, 2018
"After tagging Plateau and Sugarloaf mountains in the Catskills I dropped Steve off at his car near Home Depot in a Fishkill then continued down to Harriman SP. Parked at Tioroti Circle then headed up to the Appalachian trail. Nice easy hike out to the summit bump of Fingerboard passing a gentleman out on a stroll with his jacket over his arm. The cloudy sky was looking more ominous lending to tomorrow’s forecast of rain and snow. Fingerboard completes my winter season of the NY Hudson Highlands peak challenge.

"Tom, Steve and I hiking with two friends slackpacking through Harriman SP on their thru-hike of the Appalachian trail. We traversed over Fingerboard mountain on our way to Island Pond from Tiorati Circle area." — Nimblefoot • Oct 5, 2017

"Mom's first overnight backpacking trip along the AT with her doggy Dakota. RIP both of them. Memorable as we looked at the weather and it was a less than 30% chance of rain....We got hammered with a massive thunderstorm. I gave my mom her trail name that night...T-Storm :-) She'd never backpacked along the AT or any trail before. She got an education that night haha. Great memories!" — Mousetek • Jun 6, 2010
