Friend, Susan, and I hiked up and over Ferrin Knob on Oct. 26, 2014. We used the Mountains-to-Sea trail to access it, hiking eastward from Beaverdam Gap Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a moderate climb from the parking lot to the summit. The summit has the foundation ruins of a tower erected in 1933.
