"Drove up Evans Mountain Rd. and parked at the Evans Family Cemetery. There is a snowmobile trail immediately across from the cemetery, but I walked up a few hundred feet and took another trail that cut in. The hike to the summit is quick. About 1/4 mile up and 1/4 mile back out. Very dry at the top. Found some ripe blueberries which is unseasonably early. Decent view of Blue Job and Sanders Ledge from the top. Trails are wide enough and even graveled to the point where a baby stroller could do alright. " — FL2NH • Jun 19, 2020
"Hiked Evan's today, w/ my cousin Kris, thanks in-part to the Strafford Swampstompers Snowmobile Trails. 15F was the high temp. We wore good layers and there wasn't much wind, so it was a comfortable climb. We parked along Province Rd (not much shoulder there), and caught the snowmobile trail across from Bow Lake. Took us ~2 hrs round trip, and that included trudging through some ungroomed crusty trails (as winter is taking so long to get here this year- there hasn't been enough snow for a groomer to get thru as of yet). WE THINK WE FOUND THE SUMMIT? There was a false summit that had some views thru to saddleback mountain (could see the Ch. 11 tower). Then we reached a high point that was tree'd in. We had to turn back after that to chase the sunset on the way down. I'd like to go back again on another nice day and explore some more." — CiccheMariti • Jan 15, 2012
