"Did the south ridge of Wintour to El Poca hill. The south ridge in my opinion after climbing 5.6 in the opal range and soloing a decent amount of 5.4 this year in boots was that it was maybe one move of 5.3 but 5.2 otherwise. Do not understand the 5.4 or 5.5 suggestions at all. Did not feel more involved than a difficult scramble at any point. " — Rocky Mountain Goats • Sep 18, 2022
"Pretty easy day up Wintour and Elpoca Creek Hill, the ratings and trip reports of this route are defiantly a bit dramatic, this route is not more than maybe a difficult scramble at most " — corbinruthven • Sep 18, 2022
"Took the mapped trail up. Minimal route finding. A few times I lost the trail, but didn’t take long to find it. I was soaked from the trees still being wet from the previous night’s rainfall. It’s easy bushwhacking. However, I’ll note that I took a different route down, and I’d take that going up if I ever return. My down track kept me out of the trees for longer, and was more direct. It also avoided down climbing most of the loose scrambling parts. The summit offered great views of the surrounding area and larger neighbouring peaks. After the bushwhacking slog, I took a little extra time to relax. As mentioned, I lessened my amount of time in the thick forest by staying above the tree line. The trails were quite noticeable on the descent. The last km was along the creek, starting where a large drainage meets the base of the falls. If the creek was higher, this wouldn’t work. But it was fun. There were a few sections that I had to scramble traverse so I didn’t fall in the creek. Bear Note: This trail is just outside the area closed for bear habitat and activity. Bears probably don’t read the signs, so they probably don’t care where the boundary is. I saw scat that was not old,..." — ivo • Jul 23, 2022
