"Thought I would hit 7 peaks, but only hit 3. Didn't realize I missed the 2 south peaks. Discovered that there is no hiker trail to Sally's summit or to Beaver Hill. (I did get these four peaks later.)" — danv • Jul 19, 2021
"Planned a loop route to summit the & peaks of East, Middle, and South Tiger Mountain, the remaining peaks on Tiger Mountain as part of the Issaquah Alps 24 list I needed to bag. This part of Tiger Mountain is designed for Mountain Bikes and has a wonderful network of graded trails like ski runs green, blue, black, etc. Beyond the first mile or so from the TH, most of the trails are a mix of gravel access and former logging roads. Much of South Tiger was logged recently and the land looks terrible, the route to Middle Tiger has areas slated for cutting. Honestly, I would not recommend hiking much of this area unless you want to bag the peaks. The route down East Tiger has some nice areas, but other than that is a mix of trails through the clear cut, restored forest, and gravel roads. I only saw people as I descended down East Tiger and the rest of the mountains and trails was deserted. Middle Tiger had a nice trail up - lots of interesting moss on the trees and some wood and rock structures that spooked me out as I was alone - a little Blair Witchesque for my preference. With the exception of a small stream a couple of miles into the route to South Tiger, there were no viabl..." — markhadland • Aug 29, 2020
"I took inspiration from ejain's hike a couple days ago: Route up: High Point Trail to Dwight's Way to W Tiger No 1 to Bootleg to East Tiger Trail. Route down same except Lower Bootleg, Preston Tr and the trail under the power lines (which unfortunately adds 300 ft up, just when you think it's all downhill !)
12+ miles, 2700 ft gain, 9 hours." — markgarrett • Feb 17, 2016
"Yesterday was a big day; I'm still a bit tired. In 13.27 miles I picked up 7 of these Issaquah Alps lovelies. First up was Beaver Hill, then Sally’s Summit and on to East Tiger Mountain along with every Mountain biker in the region (I was told it was Mountain Bike opening day yesterday for this part of Tiger Mountain). Everybody was having a great time.
After Sally’s Summit, I climbed up the NW route of Crossover Road #5500 and then turned left at the East Tiger Summit trail. I loved the trail, but I might recommend skipping this route if you don’t want to get slammed by a mountain biker. I’m not complaining… in fact, I wanted a mountain bike at just that moment. Everyone was having a great time tearing down that trail. Very cool, but watch out if you’re on foot. Alternatively you can just follow the road up to the peak. In any case, the view from the top was pretty amazing. Our very dear Mount Rainier was in full glory yesterday: very impressive.
Specific to East Tiger, I have to say the summit climb leaves a bit to be desired… you’re on a road. But the view makes up for it. And when I left for the next peak I really enjoyed the forested trails as I went NNE and ..." — herdingcats • Apr 13, 2014
"A surprisingly long climb from I-90. Didn't help that took a wrong turn and added 500 vert. So many branches down after recent ice storm made some parts slow going. Also a couple of inches of snow above 2400 ft. Overall went 11 miles / 3000 ft vert... not bad for 20 min from Seattle." — scott • Feb 5, 2012
"After 15 consecutive days of work I decided to take advantage of an unexpected half day by bagging East Tiger. From Tiger Mountain Summit Trailhead we started up Main Tiger Mtn Rd 4000, coming to a T after 2.9 miles. Turning to the right and then left at the next intersection after half a mile brought us to the top for a more than decent view, regardless of the multitude of towers and utility sheds. Considering we never left the road and passed 5 or 6 commercial vehicles, this was a surprisingly pleasant hike. 8 miles round trip/2.5 hrs" — Jeb • Oct 25, 2011
