"Solo. 3/48. My legs were feeling questionable as I rolled out of my bed at the hotel, but damn it was a beautiful blue sky morning, and it’s not like I have anywhere else to be, so off I went. My car said it was 55 out. I hit the trail at 08:45, beginning at Greeley Ponds (or as locals affectionately corrected me, “off the Kanc,”). The initial ~1.3mi was beautiful, flat, and at one point, well-loved. Unfortunately over time a lot of the half logs helping over the very wet trail have rotted through, but it wasn’t really an issue for navigation. There was one small stream crossing to rock hop, b" - kellieirene, Aug 23, 2018
"Perfect hiking weather! We hit the trailhead at 9:15am, after our standard lengthy pre-hike drive, and kept a good pace to the summit. The trail was fairly rocky, but pleasant and wide, and seemed to be extremely popular! We reached the summit in 1hr50min, and celebrated with a hearty half-lunch and time to enjoy the view. I also attempted to use the sun and an AMC map to figure out which mountains we were looking at... next time, I'll remember my compass. About 45min from there to the East Osceola summit. On the way back, we had some fun climbing up the chimney. Though heading back the way we" - gooner, Jul 29, 2017
"Day 2 of our hiking weekend - Osceola and East Osceola. LOVED this hike! Started off at the Osceola Mountain trailhead ~8:30 am, a little warm and humid but a nice day. the trail starts off gentle and then begins a fun rocky, rooty climb of switchbacks. After 3.2 miles and only 2040' of gain we reached the summit of Osceola @ 4340' in ~ 1.5 hours - this includes lots of stops to chat and take in the great views along this trail so it can easily be done more quickly. The summit is an open ledge with incredible views - we stayed for a while to enjoy the sun, the company and the views. From Osceo" - deb-and-rob, Jun 10, 2017
"For my Grid and helping out Marielle and Frank for their winter 4k's. Sarah also came along. Steep hike up as usual. Coming back down, Frank almost ate it on a dangerous stretch of trail. He caught himself on an uncontrolled slide. " - newenglandwarrior, Jan 7, 2017
"took the greeley pond trail up. a very steep, rocky climb to a pile of rocks on a treed mountain summit. however, it was another nice day to be in the whites so can't complain. " - Hillary, Sep 22, 2016
