I had been up the other peaks in Echo Hills & wanted to complete the group with this one. This area is overlooked by many, but is very scenic. I parked along Northshore Road a little way from Redstone & started up a wash. I saw the east gully going up, but wasn't sure if it would be possible to go up through the cliffs, so I went around to the SSW side & headed up a gully from there. About half way up, I left the gully & started up the west ridge. It was rougher than I thought it would be! I used my hands a lot, though I'd call it class 2+. It was as steep as class 2 gets before it becomes class 3. And, of course, it was loose. There is a brief scramble up top & the summit is very small/narrow. I could see that the gully from the east was indeed doable (& much easier!), so took that down. On the way down, I discovered a really nice large arch. I enjoyed the hike very much.
