"Began at 10:45am. The base of the mountain was a little muddy, and fairly buggy, but nothing copious amounts of bugspray couldn't handle. White Dot starts off at a moderate include until you pass Cascade Link, then the steep uphill and rock-scrambling begins. Luckily the trail was completely dry and devoid of any ice or snow, although it was very packed with people, especially as we neared the summit. From one of the outlooks on White Dot we were able to just barely see the Boston skyline above the southern Wapack Range. We reached the summit at 12:45 and made our way to Dublin Peak to cross off a Monadnock Subpeak. The trail to Dublin Peak was much quieter than the summit and was a great place to have lunch before continuing on to Town Line Peak via the Pumpelly Trail to cross off another Subpeak. We returned to the Monadnock State Park HQ via the Cascade Link which criss-crosses a stream. After rain I'm sure the water level is much higher, but on our hike it was fairly low and easily crossable. Returned to the car around 3:45pm." — JCalautti • Apr 27, 2024
"Took the Dublin Trail from Old Troy Rd. pkg. lot. There were a lot of puddles to navigate through from the early afternoon rain. The small cairn supposedly marking the Dublin summit is about 25 feet below the highest rock in the area, which I climbed up to. A late afternoon start kept me from going the last 1/4 mile to Monadnock's summit since I don't like hiking out in the dark. Quite windy on the ridge, about 30-40mph but the views were pretty awesome anyway. One Monadnock subpeak done of the four." — SteveM_StickMan • Sep 6, 2021
"We ended up summiting 3 times, would recommend monte rose to Dublin to summit to townline to bald rock to only summit twice. Townline and Dublin are a bit obscure and unmarked." — stephanierandall • Nov 21, 2020
"Climbed up Mount Monadnock and visited the four sub-peaks surrounding it. Nice big loop hike with plenty of variety and tons of ice. From Monadnock Summit, Dublin Trail to summit area." — wacbravo • Jan 26, 2019
"My 3rd peak of the day. Crested the Grand Monadnock peak 3 times on my way to completing the Monadnock 5 Peak Challenge (8.15 miles). Then I drove to nearby Pack Monadnock and completed all 3 Peaks there (7.5 miles). I called it the 1 Day / Monadnock 8 Peak Challenge. " — garydavidsonruns • Jul 16, 2017
"Starting in the remote parking on Bullard rd. off rt 124 you hit the Royce trail for .8 miles, crossing rt.124 continuing on royce as you enter Monadnock State Park proper for 1.1 miles. Then it was Cart Path>Mossy Brook trail>Marion Trail>Marlboro trail, staying on the mountains furthest points west. dublin peak was the first of three as we summited from the Marlboro trail." — mikezilla • May 28, 2013
"first official search for the "Eagles Nest" man-made structure somewhere on the NW side of the mountain. I chose The Marlborough Trail to bushwhack over towered the Northern edge, searching every possible nook...I Realized when I came to Dublin Peak that the Dublin Trail is closer to NW than the Marlborough trail, which is further West. Still, I did come across some interesting open areas with killer views that nobody seems to ever venture to. " — mikezilla • Jun 15, 2012
"The third peak on today's trip, after finding the Pumpelly Cave I continued up to the summit of Grand Monadnock & out to Dublin Peak before making my way down to Monte Rosa & back to the truck." — VonSelmer • Mar 12, 2012
"Another hike up here at sunrise. Watched most of it from the trail on the way up. My first true Winter summit although there was more snow here in October than the 3-5 inches on the trail today. Much more ice on the trail today but nothing that couldn't be managed using Micro Spikes & trekking poles. It was a nice sunrise from the trail but the peak was clouded in just before I got there." — VonSelmer • Dec 26, 2011
"At this point in the hike I was thinking it would have been easier if I had not left the snowshoes in the truck. The Dublin/Marlborough Trail hadn't been used more than once since the snow fell & I found myself sinking up to my chest a few times. It's a very short trip from the summit of Grand Monadnock to Dublin Peak or I would've turned back. I enjoy the adventure of it & at this point, I was hiking to Dublin Peak with another person I'd just met at the summit. I was in no real danger. Although, without snowshoes I was unprepared for this trail." — VonSelmer • Oct 31, 2011
