"A team of 7 guys started from Kylemore and hiked up duiwelskloof. We overnighted in the cave at the top of the kloof. The next morning we pushed on towards to the summit of Drakensteinpiek and descended down past Afrikakop down to the Bergrivier nek." — Willowskid08 • Feb 11, 2024
"Went up the Duiwelskloof to summit Groot Drakenstein on a clear winter's day. Certainly underestimated the time required as progress is slow with a lot of scrambling through the kloof and then bundu bashing from teh saddle to the peak. Route in the kloof a little difficult to follow as cairns everywhere. We figured that the need for so many different routes may be seasonal but the river wasn't flowing strongly so we ended up sticking along the river as much as possible up to the top. Bring in the kloof meant that we lost signal on all Garmin devices so had no electronic route to follow but there is really only one exit at the top so very difficult to take a wrong turn." — davidcase • Jun 5, 2022
"What an epic adventure. We started the day off with a bit of nervous energy, hearing that the route is pretty tough. Duiwelskloof is one of the most beautiful locations I have visited. We got lost a few times, but after a it of searching found the next cairn. Absolutely stunning hike up. From the neck, it was pretty much a free for all trying to find the best route. No markers and no clear path. We summited Drakenstein Peak and starting to find our own route to Afrikaskop. This took a lot longer than expected and we ran out of water. Luckily found a stream in te nick of time. Decided not to summit Afrikaskop, which was a bummer, but a reason for a next outing. " — Kortstok • Feb 6, 2021
"Climbed Duiwelskloof and then walked over to Afrikaskop. We then walked past the Old BTK berghut and down to the dam where we waded through the river. What a time to be alive." — Spaniel • Jul 18, 2020
"Jeanette and I set off from Bergrivier dam. Her mission to drop off the MCSA ten Peak Project stamp and book on the summit. 10 hours and 21.7km later we were back at the dam. Interesting but sad to see the remains of the old burned out BTK hut. (Photos not able to upload, to low res. Facebook link and what loaded on google photos attached.)" — LeRoux-Kotze • Nov 4, 2018
