"A foggy hike for Luke and me along a wet trail that experienced a lot of recent rain. The fungi were everywhere along with full streams. We encountered the most hikers we've ever seen on a trail on account of a military group completing the Triple Crown. Unfortunately for them, the fog had negatively impacted their views. My legs felt horrible on the way up, and it was super warm and humid. The clouds cleared for our descent, and the views were gorgeous. " — runshigleyrun • Aug 24, 2025
"My first ascent up Dragons Tooth from behind (AT north). Rugged, beautiful solitude with epic amounts of climbing that was rewarded with tremendous views. Appalachian wildflowers were waking up along historic stone walls. 11 miles (out-and-back) with 3,000+ elevation gain. " — runshigleyrun • Mar 23, 2024
"My mid-week mountain with Todd. Hiked briskly to the top through brilliant foliage. Phenomenal views awaited as we climbed on all fours to the top. We raced the sundown as we soaked in the views and gingerly stepped between gnarly rocks. " — runshigleyrun • Oct 5, 2022
"Great weather, great trail. No issues , Had the top all to myself for about 30 minutes before a group showed up . Not that its a big deal, but the actual name of the peak is Cove Mountain. According to Alltrails , Cove is taller than Dragons Tooth, of course the big slab of granite is the main attraction . I hit them both just to be sure . A must do trail if you are in the area. "A slow 9-mile run over very technical terrain. 2,500+ feet of climbing. Beautiful day. Insanely busy parking area. Amazing trip up the mountain to watch daredevils climb to the tip and hang their legs off the tooth. " — runshigleyrun • Mar 6, 2022
"I'm going to mark this as an attempt as I've never climbed to the very top of the tooth and probably never will :-) There is some serious exposure on the left and right as you climb up the tooth and it's titled as well. " — LukeyPukey • Mar 4, 2020
