"August 22, 2021. Very foggy day, so no views of Mount Hood. But the clouds around the Columbia were pretty. Very windy the last half mile and the summit is just a bunch of trees and you have to bushwhack the last several hundred feet there. Puppy Dog Point had the views. " — runningvegan • Aug 22, 2021

"A very scenic mountain, once you get above treeline. The first 2/3 of the hike is through some pretty dense forest, so not much views for a while, but once you get into the balsamroot meadow on the upper slopes, the views reach from the deserts of eastern Washington, to Beacon Rock, to Mounts Hood and Saint Helens. To reach the true summit, just follow the trail past the false summit (last place with a view, where most turn around) and into the brush for a few hundred feet, where you'll eventually come to a small clearing with a stump to mark the top. Overall rating 7/10, a worthwhile hike with some pretty spectacular views on a clear day" — MountainQuest • Jul 28, 2021

"Leg burner, shaded most of the way, sunny last 1/2 mile, Wildflowers everywhere on the upper mountain, great views of St Helens and Hood. The actual summit is boring and just a clump of trees but just below it is where everybody congregates. " — puddlepirate • Jun 2, 2019
