"Molly and I did a loop hike over Triad and Day. There are a couple of viewpoints on The Triad but the best one is below the summit on the southern side of the mountain. Same with Day. There is a directional view near the summit, but to the south is a better sweeping view of the south. Nice to pick up some new miles in Acadia. " — newenglandwarrior • Oct 19, 2024

"After Bar Island and Beehive, the kids were less thrilled with having to climb a third thing. It was pretty easy though, and I needed to chip at least one off of my Acadia Challenge list. Great day out with my sons. " — mikewilliamsjr • Apr 19, 2021

"A great day for a hike, with two great friends and two cool dogs! The temperature was I the high 30s and the sky was grey, the trails were solid and free of snow and ice. We started from the trail to Hunters Beach, then along the cliffs and over Lower Day Mountain, then onto Day Mountain. We took our time and stopped at the beach on the way up and on the way back. We also had lunch on top of Day Mountain. Total time was about 3:30. Total distance was 4 miles. We could have done it much faster but having the dogs on leashes slowed us up. We found no signs of spring but met three other groups of hikers today. Happy Trails! " — bwright • Apr 15, 2018

"We took the wooded path, Although this one has a carriage road to the top. I went armed with a photo I found online about some old caves on Day Mountain. With some careful searching, we found them. Little secrets of Acadia...I love them." — erinjordon • Sep 26, 2014

"I had a few minutes today while working a competitve trail ride out of Wildwood Stables, so I decided to run up Day Mt. .5 miles. The weather was sunny and cool. The hike up and down took me about a half hour, including the pictures at the top and exchanging greetings with other hikers.
I met the vet judge for the ride as I got back to the stable, she was going to do the same, she didn't return for over an hour. She decided to come back down the carriage road. The carriage road is about 2.7 to 3.1 miles depending on which way you go around the mountain. I think she was surprised there was that much difference in the two routes up the mountain." — bwright • May 18, 2013
