"Went out for some bouldering with Jehan and Sebastian. Tried the sheer class 4 route up from the road-facing face of crown rock. Felt good, but stopped partway because I didn't wanna downclimb and there were some people trad climbing the regular route. Another day." — benyboy • Aug 24, 2024

"Ran the Virtual Bolder Boulder...decided that since I could choose my own finish line I wanted one with a view. Hit up the Flagstaff Summit and May's Point for some mid-run views, and finished at Crown Rock for a victory scramble." — wazoheat • May 25, 2020

"Went for a birthday hike with Christina. Was still quite snowy on the north side of Green, requiring crampons at times. Plan was to summit a bunch of summits, but only got to 3 due to raptor closures keeping me from East Green and snow kept us from returning via Saddle Rock trail. Still was a nice birthday :)" — wazoheat • Apr 23, 2020

"Hike/trail run...first activity of my convalescence. Found a different route of ascent on Crown Rock, to the left of Christina's Route on the west side. Probably the easiest of all the ascents I've tried overall. Descended Crown Rock Trail and returned to Eben G Fine via Flagstaff Trail and Viewpoint Trail rather than surface streets." — wazoheat • Apr 11, 2020

"Went for a trail run with some detours to scramble up various rocks along the way. Set out to hit three rocks, and managed to summit all three (though not without some difficulties due to darkness). First was crown rock: summited via a narrow chimney on the west side (low 5th class). Second was Fifth Pinnacle (summit of Gregory Flatironette): starting from an obvious social trail, scrambled up the southwest side of the rock between the summit and another pinnacle, traversed around to the east and then north side, then hit the summit via a big move on the north side; was all 3rd class scrambling except the big low-5th-class move up to the true summit. Finally hiked up to Saddle Rock: didn't require any bushwacking, was able to traverse mostly across rock and a faint social trail to the base of the rock, then summited with some 3rd class scrambling via the southwest side, though there looked to be a lot of doable variations. Lots of bird poop on top of Saddle Rock; I suspect it doesn't see many people, which is a shame because it's some of the best views of Boulder and the surrounding areas I've seen. By this time it was already after sunset so I couldn't stick around long. Returned ..." — wazoheat • Oct 16, 2019

"Biked to Gregory Canyon, then hiked the Crown Rock Trail, then changed into climbing shoes and summited twice: once on the east face (~5.4) and the other a fun short climb on the West Face that Christina scouted out (~5.6 but only 5-6 moves)." — wazoheat • Oct 28, 2018
