"I did 3 hikes to the ridge leading to and from sudvid or velika kapela. The first hike was in the wild, without a trail, from igrane. I realized that I made a mistake only half way thru, but it was more difficult to return, so I persevered. I hoped to find a trail on the ridge above igrane, but I found none. The ridge was like a knife edge and the rock was very rough to walk and grip by hand easily. I turned down using a different path and thanks God I returned healthy to igrane. I do not recommend walking in the mountains of Croatia not on a trail. These mountains are dead dangerous and more difficult to climb than most mountains I have ever climbed in Ukraine. Little earth, mostly rock and stones, some of which are unsteady. Furthermore, if you face a forest, most likely it will be like a jungle and impossible to cross harmlessly without a trail. Later I took a trail map in Nimfa hotel in zivogosce and made two trips to sudvid and village brikva. "We started early in the morning to avoid hot sun. Under the singing of cicadas we reached the ridge and then climbed the top. It took 3 hours from Živogošće. We were lack of water on the way back (we were two and we had 3 liters of water, but it was not enough), so we visited the first shop in Živogošće, bought a 1.5 liter bottle of ice-tea and drank it whole immediately!
The path from Živogošće to the top is very nicely and clearly marked by the red-white signs, there is no chance to go wrong if you follow it. There are magnificent views to the cost during all the way and also beautiful views to the inland from the ridge and especially from the top. " — nofto • Jul 31, 2012
