Staying on Achill Island. Solo. Drove up the road to Lough Acorrymore and found it possible to park at a high point towards the end of the road. There is another parking point a little further on as well as the possibility of parking at the dam. I walked up to the plateau at 474m. The mist descended as I went diagonally up the hillside to reach the col between Croaghaun and Croaghaun SW Top. Ascended to the cairn on Croaghaun and the rock 8m SW of cairn which is the highest point according to DBIH. Back to the col and up to the summit of Croaghaun SW Top. Back to the col and descent more or less following the ascent route back to car. The corries above Lough Acorrymore are impressive as are the sea cliffs ( so far as I could see them! ).
