"Parking in the large car park in Murrisk (fee 2 euros), we took the standard route up by the heavily eroded pilgrim trail to the col west of Taobh na Cruaich. Then over a minor top, before the hard slog up the steep east flank of the mountain over quarzite boulders and scree. We reached the chapel on the summit just before it was again wreathed in cloud. We returned by our outward route, but I detoured up to the summit of Taobh na Cruaich 487m/41m to gain a better view of Cruach Phadraig. With BC, RP and DB. Sunshine and cloud, with a fierce westerly wind." — marktrengove2 • Oct 7, 2019
"I remember this well because we wanted to be the first people up Croagh Patrick in 1999. We started early but decided to go up by Sliabh Crot (Curlew Mountain) to get warmed up before tackling the Reek. We were almost at the summit of Croagh Patrick when we met two people coming down. Still, it was a great day." — jim.mcmanus.9440 • Jan 1, 1999
