"Since the peaks on our list were crazy busy, we opted for something new. So, we headed out to Julian in the early afternoon. The trail was pretty open and we only a couple groups heading down as we were making our way up. The day was lovely and the hike was a good way to start the Daylight Savings Time Sunday. Distance traveled: 7.34 mi; 3:51 minutes; 1,749 ft gain." — erinfetters • Mar 13, 2022

"3.8 mile 1-way hike from 4705' start near Los Pinos Mountain; descended Los Pinos Road to elev:3,950', then took Corte Madera Trail (Birds of Prey TH marker) up past Peak 4588 (aka Coulter Peak), trail continues to the SW rocks on Corte Madera where register is located. "The rattle snakes were everywhere. We saw 2 on the Corte Madera Trail. The first was in the shade under the foliage and hissed/coiled at us. The second, up near the table top area, was a baby. Plus, were warned (but never saw) by a passing biker of another on the Espinosa Trail. Driving out, we saw a big one crossing the street. Exciting day. But we were nervous." — SD-Squatch • Apr 20, 2012
