Went climbers right to get around the cornice as their wasn't much of it remaining and the ridge was clear.
On descent I wanted to take the gully but got mixed up while looking for it.
Next mistake is I followed down to the regular switchback that goes around the cornice. From the summit I should of stayed skiers right more to get down to the other ridge and eventually the top of the gully. |Back at the switchback their looked to be a trail to get into the gully. Maybe from goats or other climbers looking for the gully.
Instead of listening to reason I got sucked in did some very difficult scrambling to get down a series of ledges till finally I was in the gully. A lesson learned, thankful for the outcome and happy to share.
Maybe since I wanted to take the alternate descent I should of followed the regular route around the cornice. That way I could of gotten a better look around to decide where I would go to find the gully.
Even with being off trail in some steep terrain it was nice day. I spotted a bear from above and ran into three goats. The summit was a very relaxing one with some great views.

When we did Copper, we went up the wrong gully ... we went too far over climber's right and ended up on some serious terrain, but with decent rock and good holds. Definitely would rate it difficult. We went down the proper gully though, but it was mosquito infested in that meadow. We saw two mountains on the slabs on skier's right. I found this one took me longer than I expected due to navigational issues. Glad it worked out!
