"Our 3rd, and final, peak of the day. A very quick burst, straight up, that got me breathing hard. Hiked down the North side which had a bunch of ice to make it interesting. Got down to Eagle Lake and hiked back to Jordan Pond from there. " — mikewilliamsjr • Mar 23, 2021

"Another great day for a hike. On the road 7a.m. a little snow in the air this morning and the weatherman is calling for a wintery mix. Who wouldn't want to be out hiking in this? At the Eagle lake parking lot at 9:07 and off down the carriage road. There was alot more snow in the park than I had anticipated, but there were plenty of footprints on the carriage trail just the same. Headed up Eagle Lake Trail and then on to the Conner's Nubble Trail. The trail was hidden by the fresh snow fall in places and the rocks were covered by snow and coated in ice. The weather had turned to rain and conditions were slick. Stabilicers were dug from our packs and the top was soon conquered. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains were good, however when we got back to Eagle Lake the fog had moved in and the mountains were lost in a sea of white air. Slightly damp and with plenty of time we headed into Ellsworth to do a little shopping. Helen's Restaurant for lunch and then back home down 95. Winter hiking as begun." — bwright • Dec 1, 2013
