"With two friends. From Spittal of Glenmuick. On tracks to Allt-na-guibhsaich then NE and N. On emerging from forest near Allt Vitch went up the east ridge of Conachcraig/Caisteal na Caillich over Càrn an Daimh. Went to summit of Caisteal na Caillich first before continuing to Conachcraig. Descended SW to join track back to Spittal of Glenmuick. A bright sunny day, cold but little wind. Excellent views of snow covered Lochnagar and the peaks to the north of the River Dee." — peter43 • Feb 6, 2020
"Part of a walking weekend based in Braemar, We drove down to Glen Muick, a starting point for the walk to Lochnagar 1155m. It was a blustery day with sunshine and heavy showers. We walked across the glen and up to the main track to a col at 700m. We had constant short sharp heavy showers and a gale force wind as we got higher. We left the main track and at the col and headed up NE for the last 160m climb to the windswept summit. Good views to Lochnagar from the summit ridge." — davidlong • May 29, 2011
"Cairngorm Club meet. With two friends. From Spittal of Glenmuick to Meikle Pap. Very little snow until 700m level reached. Then down to col and up Ladder, which was slightly tricky due to high wind and icy patches. Ascending into mist, which however lifted as we reached the top of the Ladder to reveal good views especially of snow covered White Mounth. Then into mist again as we ascended towards Cac Carn Mor. What had been rain before reaching Meikle Pap became hail driven hard by the wind. Descended NW and then N down steep slopes, icy and with some hard snow to Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe. Continued to Conachcraig." — peter43 • Jan 15, 1983
