"Out getting the two Hunters and the Colonels Chair as a break from work and chores. Once I left the summit of Hunter I started to meet small groups of folks from the local Jewish community who came via the ski lift. As I approached the lifts I began hearing the whir of zipliners heading down the mountain with the occasional hoots of excitement. I was the resident odd ball roaming around the top wearing a pack, dressed like a runner and wearing shades on a cloudy afternoon. On my way down the Spruceton trail a family heading up inquire about the distance to the waterfall. I had to inform them that they were on the wrong trail, hiking uphill instead of flat, and the fire tower was two more miles uphill. They were going to make the best of their navigation error and enjoy the afternoon." — Nimblefoot • Jul 30, 2018
"Final peak(or is it a bump?) of a loop hike from Spruceton trailhead. On my way down ran into two guys heading up to Hunter to be Tower volunteers for the weekend. At the Chair I mingled with the looky-loos who came up via the chairlift, some were waiting to see family members do the zipline." — Nimblefoot • Jul 12, 2013
"Part of an interesting day. First Frank and I climbed up to Kaaterskill Falls. Then we took Hunter Mt. chairlift and went over to Colonel's Chair. From there we hiked to summit of Hunter Mt. where we ran into Dave Pisaneschi and climbers from Albany ADK on a scheduled hike. Of course, when we went back down the chairlift stopped, suspending us in midair for what seemed an eternity. " — barbaratraver • Aug 25, 1996
